Abstracts for Oral Presentation

The ACDM are inviting you to take part in the call for abstracts for oral presentation at ACDM27. Please see the FAQs below to find out about the requirements of the abstract as well as other details about the submission, the timelines and other important information.

Abstracts for Poster Display

You may submit an abstract to display a poster at ACDM27. Posters must not be “overly” commercial and should be related to the management of clinical data. This could include technology, process, quality, delivery, regulations, team work or innovation. Posters will only be accepted if they are accompanied by an author.

Posters will need to be in A0 portrait size and be printed and shipped/taken to ACDM27 by the attending author. Up to 2 attending author(s) per poster will receive a discounted rate to attend ACDM27. Acceptance of the poster for display is the decision of the ACDM27 Conference Programme Committee.

How can I submit my abstract?
What is a new entrant presentation?

A New Entrant is defined as someone who has worked in Clinical Data Management for less than three years. This definition is used by ACDM to recognise and encourage emerging talent within the field.

As part of ACDM27, one abstract submitted by a New Entrant will be selected to receive a dedicated award. The chosen individual will also be awarded a free place at ACDM27, providing a valuable opportunity to engage with industry professionals, share their work, and further their development in the field.

The winning abstract will be selected by the Conference Programme Committee.
What is the closing date for abstracts?
Can I submit content including commercial & sales content?

Presentations must not be of a commercial nature (i.e. promoting a company or product). All presentations will be reviewed by the ACDM Conference Committee who reserve the right to ask for content to be removed or changed in a presentation if in their opinion it is deemed to be commercially oriented.

If you wish to do a commercial presentation (e.g. product demonstration) then you can do so by booking a Live Lounge or Demonstration Session in the Exhibitor & Sponsorship section.
How long should my abstract be?

There is no word limit on abstracts. We recommend that you provide enough information to outline what you are proposing to present. We would expect this to be up to around 300 words maximum but it is not limited to that. You will also be asked to submit three learning outcomes of your session.

Is there a reduced rate for accepted abstract speakers?

As you may be aware, the ACDM is a non-profit making organisation representing Data Managers in the clinical research field. Regrettably we are unable to provide free places for all Abstract Speakers, therefore, all Abstract Speakers will be required to register as a Conference Delegate.

As a thank you for the contribution to the Conference Programme, Abstract Speakers will be offered 20% discount on the day 1 or day 2 Option Member Rates (early bird and standard rates).
What is the duration of a speaking session?

Full instructions will be provided following the acceptance of submissions, but for initial guidance presentations will be approximately between 20 to 30 minutes, followed by discussion. Corresponding authors will be notified if their abstract has been selected and the duration of their presentation.

Please note timing is subject to change due to programme scheduling.
